chanel hand painted body jewelry accessories
I know lagerfeld’s painted body jewelry is somewhat old news but I still find myself looking at it often. speaking of pretty things and karl lagerfeld, my friend recho was a spot-on lagerfeld this past halloween. I’ve been meaning to post this since november, because honestly, she does lagerfeld better than lagerfeld. she blogs about fashion over at the milk and wine.

white hair by julia galdo. her love by ophelia chong.
these girls are both extremely talented. that’s about all I need to say.
erika hendrix is a german fashion designer I recently found via dawanda. you can purchase her goods via erikahendrix.com as well. I’m still not quite over my purple obsession and I’ve also been wearing lots of shorts lately even though it’s freezing outside. it gives me an excuse to wear my collection of tights more often. so of course erika is taunting me with these purple bubble shorts.

I’m diggin’ purple things lately. I turned a pair of purple corduroys into cutoff shorts which I’ve been wearing all the time, I bought a purple laptop yesterday and all these purple things on the internet are screaming my name. I think my obsession with the color green has subsided. purple heels photo by vanilla monkey + purple amethyst crystals photo by cobalt123.

the hilarious and misanthropic korean model daul kim has passed away. the title “daul kim checks into a motel in nowheresville, USA” given to a recent editorial of daul in russh magazine now seems to be an unfortunate foreshadowing of later events. though I’m sure PETA activists are rejoicing in her demise due to her statements about fur, “I’m usually very miserable, so I reward myself with a fur coat every year. ” as much as I love gisele, cintia dicker, and gemma ward for being adorable I doubt I could stand having a conversation with any of them. after seeing her model diary “sometimes daul kim feels like a stripper” for new york magazine’s the cut fashion section, I think daul seems like the kind of girl I’d want to be BFFs with.

- the doily dress by amour sans anguish is ridiculous and awesome, though I think I like the back view better
took a long break to be with family for a while and to clear my head. it’s been a long, tiring month. I’m excited to be home and back to bumblesea. I’ve got some old finished DIY projects that still need to be posted. one of them will probably change your life, just saying.
I want to buy all of elena gallen’s goods. her likes: high heels, area 51, and terry richardson. of course.

bumblesea style crush: luxenoir DIY sharpie chanel logo shirt

bumblesea style crush: luxenoir DIY fashion sharpie coco chanel logo tshirt
best DIY find ever: luxenoir’s DIY sharpie chanel logo shirt – with holes eating up the fabric on bottom of the tshirt. perfect. this girl is cute as hell too.
unfortunately, from experience, I know that sharpie on fabric gets messy and smudges everywhere after you wash it. and I’m not sure about my willingness to sport the chanel logo. but it’s inspiring enough to make me break out my black water based acrylic paints and play with some of my old clothes. this is how bumblesea started, after all. though I’ll never sell handmade shirts again, there’s no reason why I can’t make a few of my own.
more chanel hilarity: veronica from say hello to fashion made a quickie DIY tote that says “I really (don’t) need a CC bag!”

cottonblue lace and linen tote and olivia bee photography
I took a few days to figure out what I’d like to start focusing on with the bumblesea blog. my decision: more fashion designers, accessories, fashion photography, and DIY projects of course. in keeping with my new theme here are two of my favorite flickr photos! a girly and simple lace and linen tote by cottonblue, aka wan, a japanese fabric addict. and a photograph entitled “away” by the very talented and very young olivia bee.
