etsy wishlist, heyooo. I will probably never get these things, if I bought everything on etsy I loved I would be in massive amounts of debt. I have all my jewelry tucked away in little drawers on my work desk, I could probably buy three of these cactus jewelry displays and still not have enough room to hang necklaces on. and almost everyone knows one of my favorite posessions is a huge gold bust of beethoven, lovingly dubbed “beets.” and why the hell can’t I manage to grow my own terrarium? isn’t it supposed to be easy to do? photos courtesy of sara schalliol and made by mavis, click on the photos to view their etsy shops!
firstly, follow bumblesea on bloglovin! I just signed up, and currently have no followers.
sarah seven’s dresses are so feminine and dainty, I want some to wear with tights and chuck taylors, and maybe a so-vintage-it’s-falling-apart jacket as well (which seems to be my current casual style lately, a phase I wonder if I’ll end up regretting as much as my pseudo punk style in high school.) I also love the photography and the models, one of them looks so much like zooey deschanel it’s scary.

speaking of zooey, she’s grating on my nerves a bit. I know, I know, she’s a fashion icon and adorable and looks like an elf creature. but she’s the same exact character in every movie of hers I’ve seen. the girly part of me would gladly go shoe shopping with her, but the reasonable part of me has decided to never watch another movie of hers just because I long to pinch her cheeks.
current blog obsessions/inspiration/you know the drill:
- stephanie teague’s clothing via mint
- blushless wedding line available via aspiring couture
- there are obviously too many hours in the day so I’m fiddling around with tumblr
I’m loving these boho hair crowns and accessories on etsy from whichgoose. her floral arrangements have been a source of inspiration for a new jewelry line I’m working on for bumblesea. not to mention the product photography is great, often featuring the designer herself, emily zych. this photo of the “cocoon” butterfly hair comb is one of my favorites of her nymphness. design crush of the week. do you like me? circle yes or no.
I found aviewto’s photography on flickr, originally falling in love with the pink collection that was featured in little thing magazine. then I learned that there was an entire set, and she sells them via etsy as postcards. so pretty.
I asked my fellow twitter fiends to point me in the right direction for some fresh design to feature on the bumblesea blog. erin gilkes better known as @atlantictreefox showed me her etsy shop which carries lovely cross stitch embroidered goodies. after poking around her online profiles I found these micron pen drawings, aren’t they amazing?
if she’d offer a poster (or even a print) of the owl on the walkman drawing I would totally be first in line to snap one up. and the brick building in the st. james place drawing reminds me of the royal tenenbaums house for some reason.
anyway, check out atlantictreefox.com for more about her blog, photography, needlework, and etsy account.
I need to go home to see family for a few days so today is going to be eaten up by cleaning, packing, and travel time. the only good thing about this emergency visit is that I will be in an area of the country abundant in jack in the boxes. I hope to have a few prewritten entries done before I leave, I guess we’ll see how that turns out.
I’m dragging jordan with me. it’s nice to have someone who will pick up and go with me when I need to leave so suddenly. he is my favorite.
her introduction for herself on her blog is “Hello, my name is Robyn and I was hatched from a Kinder Surprise egg.” she has a list of all kinds of fun ways to stalk her (flickr, twitter, etsy, facebook, pandora) on her website and blog, robayre.
I’ve wanted a room with fake plastic grass instead of carpet since I was 11 years old. for now these journals might have to do.
I met houstina summers, clothing designer and creator of cowgirl heaven, a few weeks ago via twitter. I love networking with young and talented designers, and I wish more people like tina lived here in illinois. I guess twitter will have to suffice for now. read on for a quick interview with tina!

what do you like most/least about designing clothes? I like the ability to create what’s on my mind for the rest of the world to enjoy. What I like least about designing clothes is the time it takes to make them.
any favorite designers (handmade or otherwise)? Well, I love Betsy Johnson, of course. And Li Cari, she’s a new designer based in Los Angeles. One of my favorite Etsy shops is Babooshka Boutique.
what goals do you have for the company? I want to open a boutique large enough so I can have my own fashion shows. I also want to show my collection in New York fashion week.
is there any accomplishment you’ve made so far that you’re most proud of? Why yes, there is! I gave a young high school girl a prom dress as a gift. She couldn’t afford one of my dresses so I gave it to her. That’s really what it’s all about.
any advice for aspiring designers? If you see it you can achieve it. It’s true!
anything else? Trust God with all your heart.
